Start of the in situ remediation in the big source area in the tank farm

06 January 2016

The 48 hour monitoring of the air injections showed that the soil vapour extraction system worked properly and that no emissions are deteced. On the 14th of January, the perozone injections in the big source in the tank farm could start up.

The in situ remediation in the small source area in the tank farm has been stopped since the 6th January because of the limited capacity of the soil vapour extraction system in the tank farm.

The 18th of January 2016 the installation was automatically stopped due to a technical problem. One of the blowers of the soil vapor extraction system malfunctioned. The injection of perozone stopped immediately and automatically.

The blower was revisioned and the installation was restarted on the 22th of January.
